Paul Mann started his career pushing
out beach-floats. After serving
by mistake in the commandos, he worked in a bank in Toronto for a
couple of years. Then followed eleven years as a purser with British
India Steam Navigation Company.
After quitting the sea he ran a disco, owned a Chinese takeaway, washed dishes in an hotel,
collected tickets on a chain-ferry to a gay beach in Dorset. His last
job was packing bread in Tescos where he lasted a week.
Now he lives in Sussex with his Belgian Shepherd.

the wonderful literary virtue of being able to express disgust amusingly..”

crackle with bitchy salty wit... It’s by turns funny, sexy,
moving and unexpected.”

"A riot of acerbic wit and authentic characterisation.”
The Seafarer
“...gives an overview of a world that today
has all but disappeared. Great fun.”
