While Cleaning Out Desk, Wolfowitz Pockets 3 Legal Pads, Economy Of Nigeria By Lee Camp
Paul Wolfowitz resigned Thursday as President of the World Bank following a scandal in which he arranged a job and pay raise for his girlfriend.
He agreed to step down after weeks of hearings in which he denied wrongdoing. Although many thought this would end the entire ugly chain of events, it now appears that while cleaning out his desk Wolfowitz stealthily helped himself to three brand new office legal pads as well as the entire economy of Nigeria.
World Bank officials have been unable to reach the Wolfowitz but have left voice mails requesting that he return Nigeria's economy ASAP.
Wolfowitz's lawyer sent a single text message saying that once Nigeria's debt to the World Bank is taken into consideration, there's not a lot of economy left to speak of, so "It was an easy enough mistake to make."
He also said Wolfowitz will return two of the three legal pads by next week, as well as the tattered remains of Nigeria's economy, "if he can find it."
