Insurgents Hire Halliburton Mercenaries To Battle U.S. Mercenaries
By Lee Camp
IRAQ Halliburton is reported to have been awarded a no-bid contract by Iraqi insurgents to work as mercenaries, or hired troops, battling the U.S. invasion. It appears that most of the Halliburton units' fighting will be against Blackwater mercenaries hired by the U.S. government. Essentially, the war in Iraq will now be waged by proxy. Unfortunately this new contract will likely increase the violence and destruction in the region due to the fact that Halliburton is an American company and, therefore, has access to the American military's armaments. By hiring Halliburton, the insurgency has now secured themselves top-of-the-line U.S. weaponry, which they can use to fight the U.S. military, or at least the U.S.'s hired Blackwater troops.
Halliburton defends its actions and claims there is no conflict of interest inherent in the contract with the anti-U.S. factions. A spokeswoman for the company had this to say from her gold-plated office chair being carried by four strapping young mercenaries, "Listen, we at Halliburton are a company. We have an obligation to our stockholders to go where the money is, even if that means blowing up our own country's soldiers. The insurgents pooled together a lot of money to hire us as their army, so we had no choice but to say yes. Did they get that money from Iran and Hamas? Probably. Does that matter to our stockholders and our executives? Not a bit. Do we overcharge the U.S. government for our services? Perhaps $100 for a Pepsi is slightly steep, but we overcharge the insurgency for the services we provide them as well. It's only fair. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting to figure out how we're going to destroy the U.S.-hired troops. You know what, maybe they'll hire us not to fight them!"
