Peter Pace Misunderstood
By Katie Halper
Peter Pace's recent remarks--that " homosexual acts between individuals are immoral and
we should not condone immoral acts"-- were "taken out of context and distorted," according to a high ranking U.S. Army general.
The general, who insisted on anonymity, has worked with General Pace for over 25 years, long enough to appreciate the character and mind of the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff. "Peter is totally misunderstood."
"He doesn't have a problem with homosexual acts, per se, he has a problem with homosexual acts that go on between individuals, but not if they go on among individuals, or in groups. Being in the army, we have a different way of looking at things. We think as a group. And when we think, whether that be about land attacks or homosexual acts, we like to think of the group."
