United States Announces Israel Is Entitled To
Make Entire World Hate It

WASHINGTON - When asked whether Israel should stop their missile attacks on Lebanon, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow gave the often-repeated Bush Administration response that "Israel is entitled to make the entire world hate it. She is a sovereign nation and should be allowed to make people despise her. The United States cannot get involved every time Israel chooses to whack a hornets nest with a large stick. We ourselves are in the hornet-whacking business, and therefore it would be hypocritical for us to criticize her."
Tony Snow then avoided giving substantive answers to any other questions, and he finally ended the press conference by saying, "I am a sovereign press secretary, and therefore I am entitled to make the entire press corps despise me."
