Government cave-in to pressure over Porthcawl power site.

The UK conservation group Country Guardian claimed victory yesterday after another campaign to stop construction of an energy producing wind farm in Porthcawl in Swansea Bay resulted in the government backing down.

The conservation group, (headed by Sir Bernard Ingham former consultant to British Nuclear Fuels) which claims that it is personally responsible for stopping 66% of wind farm planning applications, produced terrifying artists impressions (see above) and says that "one only needs to glance at how the site will be disfigured" to realise that “wind energy is a loser” and that "nuclear is the better choice".

Interviewed by BIGfib, the UK energy minister Brian Wilson said, "They stirred up so much local opposition we’ve had to give in… We’ll just give them what they want and build a nuclear power station instead...”
