Parents Protest New Movie 'Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Rum'
By Lee Camp
The latest movie in the Harry Potter franchise has just come out in theaters, and parents and many community leaders are even more upset than in previous years.
"hallucinogenic drugs"
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Rum follows Harry and his friends as they discover alcohol, sex, and the magical world of hallucinogenic drugs.
The Harry Potter books and movies have been protested against ever since they gained popularity in the late 1990's. Concerned adults have said that the series promotes witchcraft and the worship of Satan.
"urinates on a police car"
Even the Pope wrote a letter condemning the franchise. However, director Mike Newel has taken it a step further in his latest opus. In Goblet of Rum Harry loses his virginity (to a genderless three-armed dwaddledirk), buys crack for the first time, and urinates on a police car just for kicks. Many critics believe that Harry's actions will influence young fans.
Newel defended his movie by saying, "These characters are going through their teenage years. Kids will be kids. Besides, people were protesting when it was simply witchcraft, so I figured let's give them something to protest about. It's hypocritical honestly. As if the Pope's never smoked a little crack!"
