The Next Blockbuster - "Are People Necessary?"
By Alan Lord

New York – Following hot on the heels of her book ''Are Men Necessary?" is New York Times op-ed columnist Maureen Dowd’s follow-up tome titled “Are People Necessary?” in which the current reigning diva of pop fluff advances the theory that most peoples’ problems result from the mere fact that, well, there are people.

“Take away people – please,” stated the flamboyant red-haired Ms. Dowd, “and there is no more glass ceiling or income gap between the sexes. No more bright women doomed to lives of barren spinsterhood because smart gals scare smart guys. Bonus: no more wars, famine, you name it. Feminism and machismo will be dead only when people are.”

Asked who would provide successful Power Women such as herself the $700 shoes once the Manolo Blahniks of this world are no longer, Mizz Mo gave a charming little giggle, a pert toss of the head, and declared with an air of saucy triumph, “With no more men around well, let them wear Birkenstocks.”
