Mothers Nature & Sheehan Join Forces To Force America Out Of Iraq By Lee Camp Cindy Sheehan, mother of a soldier who was killed in Iraq, and Mother Nature have joined forces in their quest to get America out of the Middle East. Sheehan has been trying to get through to President Bush ever since she arrived at his ranch in Crawford in early August. Mother Nature chose to get Bush's attention in late August with the arrival of Hurricane Katrina. Sheehan and Nature joined forces when they realized they were both concerned mothers fighting toward the same end.
Sheehan stands against the war because she believes America's troops are not dying for a noble cause as the President insists. Mother Nature, on the other hand, believes Bush simply invaded Iraq in order to suck the oil wells dry. Nature is against such an agenda because she says it destroys the environment, for which she is largely responsible.
Sheehan and Nature are in the midst of a two-pronged attack in which Sheehan leads large protests in New York and Washington D.C. while Nature hits the southern U.S. with enormous hurricanes. The mothers hope that the hurricanes will exhaust America's resources as well as Bush's mental resources and thereby necessitate the return of the troops from Iraq. So far Mothers Sheehan and Nature say the alliance is working brilliantly.
