Congress Schedules December 7th Meeting To Look Into Threat Of Rita

Friday Congress added a meeting to their agenda that will look into the possible threat of Hurricane Rita. The meeting is scheduled for December 7th at 3 pm. Senator Harry Reid said that the Republicans wanted to push the meeting back until January 22nd but the Democrats insisted it be held this year. He stated, "It's really too important to put off more than a few months."
Also on the agenda is a joint session of Congress during which possible problems in Iraq will be discussed. That session is scheduled for February 4th, 2009.
