 Gays Responsible For New Orleans Group Claims

An evangelical Christian group that regularly demonstrates at LGBT events is blaming gays for hurricane Katrina.
Repent America says that God "destroyed" New Orleans because of Southern Decadence, the gay festival that was to have taken place in the city over the Labor Day weekend.
"Southern Decadence" has a history of filling the French Quarters section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars" Repent America director Michael Marcavage said in a statement Wednesday.
"May this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God," Marcavage concluded.
Another religious group, however, the American Christian Network, claimed that it was not the gays of New Orleans that God is punishing but the voters.
"God's a busy guy," the rev Pat Brown told BIGfib. "He's busy running the whole universe, so he doesn't have time to run around doling out individual acts of retribution."
"What he does do though is set things up so that every act automatically leads to its own result. When the result is bad, some may want to call that retribution."
"The people of Louisiana overwhelmingly voted for Bush."
"He promised to send their state troops overseas, to cut funding from the Levies and to scrap the Kyoto protocol to control the global warming responsible for these freak weather patterns, and the people of Louisiana along with much of America said, -Yeah, we'll have us some of that.
"Well they got lucky. Bush kept all his promises."
