Monsento to launch GM-ready Humans.

Monsento, the creator of genetically modified canola and wheat has today become the first company ever to patent a human DNA sequence.
The company, which produces the weedkiller Rondup™ has already patented wheat and canola which it has genetically modified to make it resistant to the weedkiller which represents 40% of the company sales.

The latest move is just the final link in our marketing chain” William Eird of Monsento told BIGfib.
"Stage one was to sell everyone Rondup™… As weeds became more resistant farmers had to use more and more Rondup™. Now that’s great for us but the crops started to get sick. So we sold the guys genetically modified crops which don’t suffer as much. Great.
But then consumers who are supposed to buy the stuff started to worry about the dangers, the dangers to themselves of eating stuff that has never existed anywhere in nature, the dangers to other nearby crops which are always polluted by modified DNA from GM crops, and dangers to the environment and the planet…"
"Todays patent is the solution to that problem."
"We have successfully genetically modified human DNA, replacing the "I'm so worried about GM" gene with an "oh, who cares, what can I do anyway?" gene. We'll be slipping the genetic modifier
out into society at large over the next year... I guarantee that by 2005 noone will be talking about GM anymore."
Monsento shares climbed 876% within minutes of the announcement. "This is quite clearly a winning product combination" Wall street commentator Nigel Omorals said.
