Global Warming Good For Bathing Suit Sales By Lee Camp Reports surfaced today showing Philip Cooney, chief of staff of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, altered scientific reports on global warming to make global warming sound less significant than it is.
The White House says it can't believe that a former lobbyist for the American Petroleum Institute would be biased in terms of global warming.
The White House Press Secretary said, "We're shocked. I mean, when you take someone whose entire well-being and livelihood is based in the oil industry and place them as head of the Council on Environmental Quality, you assume they're going to be absolutely truthful."
When asked about the Bush Administration's official stance on global warming, Scott McClellan responded, "We feel it's good for bathing suit sales, and that means it's good for our economy. You have to look at the big picture."
