96 Olympic Bomber To Plead Guilty, Bad At Making Bombs By Lee Camp ALABAMA Eric Rudolph, the man responsible for the 1996 Olympic Park bombing, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a separate abortion clinic bombing in 1998.
He has claimed responsibility for a string of bombings all over the southern U.S. which killed only two people and injured several more.
In the courtroom he also pleaded guilty to being bad at making bombs.
After ten years in the business of trying to kill innocent civilians, Rudolph admitted "it's harder than it looks."
His explosion to death ratio is one of the lowest ever recorded by a single man in the minor league division of bombing.
Rudolph further told the courtroom, "It's a good thing I'm being locked up. There are much better bombers out there, and I've been stealing the limelight. When I started I thought it would be easy. But after years of small bombs, I've only killed two people. I really am ashamed of myself."
Rudolph told one reporter that he hopes to study effective bomb-making in prison in order to be a true professional once he's released.
