Congress Refuses To Hold Special Session Concerning Feeding Tube For Poor, Starving
By Lee Camp

WASHINGTON DC – Congress held a special session this past Tuesday in order to vote on reinserting the feeding tube of Terri Shiavo, who had been in a persistent vegetative state for fifteen years, but has since died. Despite taking such actions, Congress then refused to hold a vote on creating a feeding tube for America's millions of poor, homeless, and starving.

House majority leader Tom DeLay had this to say, "We simply can't get involved in every individual case of people needing food. It's not our job to worry about feeding the countless hungry people in this country. The case of Terri Shiavo is an exception because… uh… the media talked about it a lot. So we figured it would look good if we acted like we cared. …Wait, can you edit out that last part?"

Local homeless woman Kathy Barris feels strongly about this issue.
She said, "I'm thinking about putting myself into a coma just to get a decent meal."
