BOSTON, MA On Monday Roman Catholic Priest Paul Cartwright came forward with his claim that he was molested by eight-year-old Timothy Blackwell last summer.
Cartwright says the events took place behind the Church on several different occasions after which Blackwell, then seven, told Cartwright that if he went to the authorities God would strike him down. Cartwright stated he did not come forward until now because he feared for his life.
He said, What that boy did to me was dead wrong, and he should be punished to the full extent of the law. Tim was a young man that I respected and for him to take advantage of our relationship like that was pure evil. He made me think that I should feel guilty for what was going on. I have no doubt that the emotional scars from this will last a lifetime, and it will take me a long time to figure out why God allowed this to happen.
Hearings in the trial begin next month. Calls to Timothy Blackwell were not returned.
