Woomera Lumina radioactive theme park for South Australia
The Australian federal government has today said that it's plans to use acquired land in Woomera, South Australia as a radioactive waste dump are in "no way" incompatible with the state government plans to create a public park on the land.
"Look, there's obviously no danger from this waste at all." Finance Minister Nick Minchin told BIGfib. "Otherwise we wouldn't even think about building it... And if there's no risk at all then there's no reason why the two plans, for a park and a dump can't coexist."
"Obviously there's going to have to be a bit of rebranding, but that's nothing the SA government can't handle."
"Our guys here have already given them a few tips, and though this stuff isn't final, I think we'll be seeing some great tourist campaigns running, stuff along the lines of "Come swim in the glowing waters of the worlds only luminous lake. Woomera Lumina."
