Labour Proposes Enabling Bill By Lolo Laroche
FEARS that the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles could face a legal challenge to their marriage in a civil ceremony prompted the country’s ruling Labour party last night to offer help with legislation to clear up any doubts.
Labour said it would pass an enabling bill to permit Charles and Camilla to marry in a “suitable building,” to be provided by the mayor of London.
“If Charles really wants to be a man of the people and gain the respect of the British people then he should forgo fancy lardy-dar church weddings and get married in a shed,” Ken Livingston, London’s mayor told BIGfib.
“We have set aside the perfect garden shed on an allotment in Walthamstow,” the mayor confirmed.
When challenged about the choice of venue, the left wing Mayor insisted there were no other viable options.
“I’m afraid it’s the best we can do. Especially for a figure as loved as Charles,” he said.
It was confirmed yesterday that for unknown reasons the Queen would not be attending the ceremony.
