Bush Defends Use Of Torture, Bombing Of Civilians In Effort To Stop Evil
By Lee Camp

TEXAS—The Bush Administration defended the use of torture and the indiscriminate bombing of Iraqi civilians in its "efforts to stop evil."

This message was relayed by White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan in a press conference Tuesday, one day after new photos surfaced of Iraqi detainees being tortured.
McClellan stated, "Listen, if we have to do some really horrible terrible things in order to stop evil, we will."

The Bush Administration's view of torture has been much talked about this week as President Bush seeks to get Alberto Gonzales confirmed as his new Attorney General.
Gonzales famously authored the memo that stated that torture is only those acts which "cause organ failure or death." and Bush sees that memo as reason for promotion.

For his part, Gonzales says he plans to write another memo that recommends "torture" be redefined as "anything done by the other guys."

Just before ending the press conference, McClellan said, "The President is resolute, and he is sure that if they could, the thousands of innocent civilians who have died in Iraq due to American aggression would thank him for putting an end to evil and evildoers."
