Bush Offers Three Favorite Sweaters For Disaster Relief
By Lee Camp and Lolo Laroche

CRAWFORD, TX – Following criticism from the international community that the United States has not been specific enough about the scope and targeting of its disaster relief operation, President Bush offered Thursday to verifiably donate three of his favorite sweaters.
The sweaters will be in addition to the announced $350 million the U.S. has pledged to help Asia recover from this week’s tsunamis.

Previous aid pledges have often failed to materialize - pledges of $400m after the 2000 floods in Mozambique and the $3.5bn after Hurricane Mitch were never actually allocated – and a spokesman for the White House admitted yesterday that it may in the future turn out to be difficult to spot exactly where the $350 million figure pledged by the US came from, went to, or if indeed it had ever existed.
He pointed out however, that delivery of the President’s sweaters could be easily verified as the bright colors would be easily identifiable from the air.
