Thousands Drown Under Flood of Tsunami Relief

By Lee Camp in INDONESIA
Reports out of Southeast Asia Monday say that nearly 2,000 people were crushed by a flood of Tsunami relief packages.
Crates filled with medical supplies, food, water, and clothing poured into the remote town of Meulaboh without warning.
One survivor said, “At first we thought it was just a truck filled with food, but then another came and another. Soon packages were being dropped form helicopters too causing many buildings to collapse. I grabbed my son and climbed up a tree where we held on for three hours until the shipments subsided.”
The president of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, was unable to say why no forewarning of the devastating surge of relief had been issued.
