Dinner with the stars:
Sunday Feast with Kylie Minogue
In a new series, BIGfib brings you week after week easy-to-follow recipes straight from the stars showcasing the best of World Cuisine.
Kylie says:
Obviously with my public performances Im on a pretty serious diet most of the time to keep my waistline, but at the weekends I like to pig out and eat something that I dont have to throw-up immediately afterwards.
When we were touring in France, I discovered French nouvelle cuisine, and I thought, This is it! Finally something tasty and filling and low calorie, so I got Jean, the cook at the hotel to show me how to do it.
Obviously French cooking is more complicated than heating up oven chips or throwing a burger on the barby, but its so much more satisfying I really think its worth the effort.
Tomate à la Basilique is one of my favourites because its an entrée, main course, and the tomato being a fruit, kind of a desert all rolled into one.
You will need (Serves Three):
1 small tomato.
1 teaspoon of Rice.
2 Teaspoons Evian.
2 leaves of Basilique.
(Note if you are unable to get hold of French Basilique you may replace it with plain old Basil, but dont tell the guests!)
Instructions:
Boil the rice gently in two teaspoons of Evian for 12 minutes.
Slice the tomato thinly.
Arrange elegantly on an enormous white plate as shown.
