Sharon Enters World-Class

Ariel Sharon’s status as a world leader was unexpectedly confirmed yesterday when the Attorny general pronounced a definitive ruling on the long running bribery scandal involving Mr Sharon.
The scandal, born of the fact that the Sharons accepted hundreds of thousand of dollars had threatened to destroy the Israeli PM’s political career.
The Attorny General ruled that the Sharons, despite accepting over $300,000, did not know that they were being bribed when they took the money and that the case against Sharon and his son is now closed.
Mr Sharon thus joined the ranks of other “Untouchable” world leaders such as Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi and France’s President Chirac who have all avoided prosecution in financial scandals in which they were clearly guilty, due solely to their position at the head of government.
“He’s up there with the best of them now.” the Israeli justice minister, Tommy Lapid told BIGfib.
