Sharon proposes revised withdrawal plan

JERUSALEM (CDS) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will today ask his government to approve a new plan for Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

Members of Sharon's Likud party turned down his previous withdrawal plan on May 2.

Sharon said in a speech Sunday evening that he would put a revised plan to a vote of his coalition Cabinet next week.

Details of the new plan have not been made public, but the Israeli newspaper Haaretz indicated Sharon's new plan will propose wholesale destruction and awesome obliteration of the Gaza Strip by bulldozer, armoured tanks and missile attacks, followed by withdrawal from Jewish settlements in four stages.
A source close to PM Sharon told BIGfib, “The idea is that once the whole place looks like a bulldozed wasteland then no one is going to complain about having to pull out.”
