WMD Imaginary - Blair.
The Liberal Democrat leader, Charles Kennedy, this morning added his voice to calls for an urgent investigation into WMD.
We have been lied to and led into a war we didnt want... Kennedy told journalists. We know there are WMD out there, it is time he came clean and told us what he knows.
The prime minister however rejected the growing clamour for an independent inquiry into the existence of the theoretical immoral idiots who by lying to the cabinet and by falsifying evidence, justified the recent attack on Iraq, the so called Wankers of Mass Deception (WMD)
We do not see the need for an independent inquiry. Mr. Blair told the commons. We have a perfectly good in-house inquiry underway... Challenged by Kennedy to tell the house whether information from the inquiry would be made public and when, Blair replied There are no wankers in this government and we have never deceived anyone... If pressure to find imaginary scapegoats is maintained then the internal inquiry will be forced to name and shame some WMD, however no one within the cabinet will be implicated...
It is now up to the Conservatives - who are meeting today - to decide if they too will back calls for an inquiry. This is however unlikely as the British public is now bored with the war and couldnt really care less if it was justified or not.
