HIV - New Internet virus unstoppable.
By Joel Surfalot in California - 15/06/2003

Symantec corp. today warned of a new kind of virus which the company's software is powerless to prevent.
"HIV, Human internet virus is a completely new problem for internet users." spokeswoman Radina Blow told journalists.
"Where previous viruses spread by infecting computer software, and by using the computers address book to forward itself to ever more users, HIV infects the users brain... It is the users themselves who propagate and apparently willingly spread the virus."
Citing a recent example the "Life is beautiful" virus Radina explained.
"These new viruses are much more complex than previous computer viruses... They masquerade as warnings about old-style computer viruses when in fact the virus is the message itself and the target is no longer the pc but the recipients brain."
Life is beautiful is a typical HIV virus. The message masquerades as a warning... "If you receive a message containing the file Lifeisbeautiful.pps,” the message urges, "DO NOT OPEN IT! "The entire contents of your hard disk will be erased."
In fact life is beautiful is a hoax. The virus does not exist but the brains of gullible users are quickly infected.
The message ends with the order "Send this message to everyone in your address book."
So far the infection mechanism isn’t understood. "No-one knows how the virus makes people stupidly obey the orders in these messages, no-one knows why they willingly send this completely pointless and obviously idiotic message to everyone they know... willingly infecting them. But they do, and one thing's for sure, our antivirus software cannot stop it..."
