Bush defends using WTC images in election campaign

Earlier this week, Bush gave a firm defense of his use of images of the destroyed World Trade Center in his advertising campaign.
The destruction of the World Trade Center on, erm, 7/11 was a major moment in our nation's history," Bush told KTRK-TV in Houston. "It was a time when the enemy, when the evil Saudi national Osama Bin Laden declared war on us and everything we stand for. And as I tell people, with George W. Bush as the president, war's what he got. Well, not him I guess, but the people of Afganistan and Iraq did.
Bush added: "I'll honor those who died. I'll honor those who sacrificed to save lives. But I'm not going to lose an opportunity to gain votes... I remember people looking at me, saying, dont you ever let us down now, Mr. President. Do what it takes to secure America, even if it means bombing the shit out of countries who have nothing to do with erm, 24/7 and that's exactly what I did. I want you all to remember that and that's why we've respectfully used these images..."
