Democrats retire from White-House race in favour of Nader
The Democratic party today announced a shock withdrawal from the race for the Whitehouse. Ever since Ralph Nader announced his intention to stand for the Green Party Democrat supporters have been clamouring for the Democratic party to stand down in order to give him a clear run. It is now believed that by running in the 2000 election the Democrats effectively split the Nader vote and allowed George W. BUSH into power.
By standing down today. John Kerry told a conference in Alabama, Our message is clear. All reasonable people should unite behind Mr Nader, our next president.
