EC Enlargement. More is Less.

The European Community yesterday announced a series of restrictive measures intended to smooth the way for the integration of 13 new eastern European countries this June.
The measures, which are needed to prevent a huge influx of economic migrants from the poorer eastern countries into the richer Western ones will remove the founding principles of the EC, notably free trade, and free passage of persons from member states.

Thus the newest citizens of the eastern member states will have full access to the EEC even though they will not have automatic right of passage between member countries.
The measures were announced by Brussels spokesman Wim Wingerdonger yesterday along with a new program of legal “Access” harmonisation for all, intended to guarantee liberty of access to private services.

Notable measures include guaranteed access by children of all ages to night clubs and bars (which will no longer be able to play loud music or serve alcohol), guaranteed wheelchair access to sports clubs (which will no longer be permitted to stage cycling, running, or aerobics activities), and guaranteed access to Universities for stupid people (Universities will no longer be permitted to provide “higher” education).
