10,000 $ bribes "clearly worse" than 3,000 deaths say most Israelis.

For the first time since his election a majority of Israeli citizens say that Ariel Sharon should go.
Opinion polls published yesterday indicate that Sharon’s position as Israeli prime minister may finally have become impossible to sustain with 51 percent of the population agreeing that he should go.

Although the continuing conflict and deaths of both Israeli (740) and Palestinian citizens (2300) (figures from 2000 – 2003) have caused some doubts about Prime Minister Sharon’s abilities, news today that he may have received up to 10,000 $ US in bribes look set to topple the prime minister.

Commenting on the news a government spokesman who wishes to remain anonymous told BIGfib “I guess people have gotten used to suicide bombers, limbs flying through streets, a constant state of terror, the army destruction of Palestinian settlements, even walls being built around their city. But bribery and corruption: well that’s clearly a whole different ball game.”
