Arnie fiddles while California burns
By Justine Doody

Following the success of President Bush's tax cut for millionaires, the Republican Party has announced plans to address the ongoing housing crisis among the exceedingly wealthy. Under the pilot scheme being implemented in California at the moment, so-called "Bush" fires are used to clear land previously held by the disadvantaged majority, which will then be handed over to the advantaged minority.

The incoming governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose election last month was widely hailed as the first sign of the apocalypse, has publicly voiced his support for the plan, telling reporters:

"These are the kind of pure-blooded Americans we want living in our state. Especially the Saudi oil millionaires."

If the pilot scheme is successful, the GOP plans to implement it elsewhere in the US; sites slated for redevelopment include the Democratic Party Headquarters, the state of Arkansas and the town of Flint, Michigan.

The plan is part of a wider Republican initiative to extend social benefits to minorities ? in the coming months, it is planned to introduce free childcare, free medical benefits and freedom from social responsibility for the exceptionally rich. These schemes have met with tacit approval from the silent majority.
